Lake Mead Nevada Fishing Report
January 28, 2008 on 5:35 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
LAKE MEAD Trout anglers have found good action for stocked rainbows near the Hemenway fishing pier, or at least where it supposed to be. Trout fishing has also been good at B-5 Road in the days following the trout plants. Striped bass are still hitting slow in the Hemenway and B-F road with occasional reports that a good fish has been caught. Such is the case with a 10-pound 8-ounce striper reeled in by a lucky boater. Anglers are still finding shad and stripers in the Vegas Wash area though most are in the one- to three-pound category.
Florida Fishing Charter

>>>>Find A Florida Fishing Charter<<<< One thing is for certain; there is no scarcity of Florida fishing charters. Each guide carries his own passion, fervor and skill. And they all seem to instinctively know where the fish are always biting. You will never have trouble finding a guide. But you might have trouble finding the right guide. The best Florida fishing charters are known not only for their experience, but they are also known for their ability to effectively share their skills and secrets with their customers in an entertaining manner. Not only will he make sure you catch fish, but he will do it in such a way as to make you want to return and do it again with him. A good guide knows that being a great successful guide isn’t so much about how many fish he can catch, but how much repeat business he can generate. So, when trying to find the right Florida fishing charter for you, it’s important to do your homework first. Communicate with potential guides or their booking agency to ensure he knows exactly what you are looking for in a charter. A knowledgeable guide will be in tune with all the conditions and factors for the perfect fishing trip. This not only includes characteristics of the fish you are after but also factors such as tides, temperatures, wind, weather, and moon phases. Before boarding the boat on your Florida fishing charter, be sure to be candid with the guide about your fishing skill level. This will allow him to avoid putting you in frustrating situations. Develop a good rapport with your guide. When preparing to embark on your Florida fishing charter, expect to give a deposit to secure your trip. And remember to bring a hat, light colored clothing such as khaki colors, sunglasses, bug repellent, sunscreen, food and plenty of water to drink. Your guide will provide the coolers, ice, tackle and all the fishing gear you will need. Of course you are welcome to bring your own gear, just let the guide know in advance so he can make room for your gear. On your Florida fishing charter, you can avoid heavy fishing pressure by booking your trip on a weekday instead of a weekend. Even though doing so may be considered booking during “off peak” times, it doesn’t mean the fish are not biting. When it comes to making the most out of your Florida fishing charter, remember, it’s not always how many fish you catch that counts, but the smiles do count. If the trips was a fun experience for everyone aboard, catching no fish at all can even be a remarkable memorable adventure. >>>>Find A Florida Fishing Charter<<<<

Strawberry Reservoir Utah Ice Fishing Report - Jan 24, 2008
January 25, 2008 on 7:55 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsStrawberry Reservoir Utah Ice Fishing Report Jan 24, 2008
Fishing on Strawberry is unbelievable! 2 days ago, we pitched our ice tent just out from the marina launch ramp, and we fished using white florescent ‘gitzits’. We couldn’t keep the fish off our hooks. We caught over 100 trout between us (we released all but our limits). We will be heading back up next week for more fun. The temps are cold enough to keep the slush under control so walking to our holes was manageable. It didn’t matter where we drilled our holes. It didn’t matter how deep we fished. We still nailed them. The ice on Strawberry is about 7 inches thick where we were.

Oregon Fishing Report
January 18, 2008 on 4:40 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsOregon
fishing report
Oregon fishing report for Willamette Valley/Metro- The
traditional numbers of Smelt on the Columbia this time of year is unusually
low so far. Columbia sturgeon have been exiting the mainstream for
better sources of winter food in other Oregon estuaries. Willamette
water level, water flow and water temperature has dropped this week.
Sturgeon fishing has been better. We look forward to higher numbers of
steelhead over the coming weeks.
Oregon fishing report for the Clackamas steelheads is improving. For
best luck, fish above Riverside Park on the Clackamas and Eagle Creek.
Oregon fishing report for the Sandy is fair. As the water clears,
fishing will also improve throughout January and February as more steelhead
enter.
Oregon fishing report for Metro: Anglers are enjoying great action with
steelheads as water and air temps equalize. Fishing is best after 9:00
am.
Oregon fishing report for the Northwest coast: The small streams
are too low right now which means less action. As water clarity
improves, larger river fishing will improve also. Anglers
are enjoying good action on the Wilson because it has cleared. Fishing
pressure there is currently low.
Oregon fishing report for the Trask River; the river has been blocked by
a log jam at the railroad bridge.
Coastal rivers Oregon fishing report; Bright Chinook fishing is good.
We are in anticipation of early season steelhead spawn.
Oregon fishing report for Sturgeon in Tillamook Bay is good
sturgeon. Sand shrimp fished in the deeper slots in the middle and west
channel should produce the best results. Crabbing remains poor.
Ocean surf Oregon fishing report: Surf will remain too high for safe and
productive razor clam digging. With recent rainfall and more on the way,
crabbing is very poor in Yaquina Bay.
Southwest – Mild tides this weekend will change to minus tides next week
although the ebb will occur after dark.
Oregon fishing report for the Siuslaw and Lake Creek are fishing well when conditions allow. With no
significant rain, Lake Creek will be fishing well by the 1st, and the Siuslaw
sometime after.
Oregon fishing report for the Umpqua River has remained high and muddy over the past week although drift
boaters in the Roseburg area have caught steelhead over the weekend.
Surf perch fishing has been pretty good off southern Oregon beaches, but the
forecasts this week for high wind and waves will probably prevent safe ocean
casting.
While the Elk and Sixes have provided only fair fishing periodically, weekend
anglers managed to take a few chinook. The Elk River had great color and was
at 5.5 feet on New Years Eve.
Oregon fishing report for
The Chetco which has been dropping and clearing since December 30th, is
predicted to be on the rise again later this week. Steelhead have been moving
into the river in good numbers over the past week with anglers picking up 10
to 14 pounders when river and weather conditions have allowed. A 20-pound
native steelhead was taken on December 27th.
Oregon fishing report:
Eastern – Anglers found snow on the banks of the Deschutes over the weekend.
Fishing was fair for a mix of whitefish and redsides. Steelhead are in the
river, though they are getting colored.
Cold temperatures in the eastern part of the state are keeping steelheaders
inside. Flow ice and freezing rod guides will keep most from venturing out
until temperatures rise in late winter.

What’s In The Utah Fishing Report For Northern Utah?
January 17, 2008 on 4:25 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThis portion of the Utah Fishing Report is about Bear Lake - this week, the Bear Lake surface temperature is about 32° F. The Cisco Beach boat ramp is still accessible, but it is the only boat ramp usable at this time. The recent wind activity has left the lake largely ice free. If you plan to take a boat onto the lake, use caution, because ice chunks are floating around and are dangerous.
No Cisco are running yet. Fishing for Cutthroat is good in 60 - 80 feet of water. Use a tube jig tipped with cisco. Anglers have the best success fishing at Second Point.
